All right boy's…these picture are kinda out of order, but here goes. Back when Dedo was a boy, your age, the people of Korea had a fight. They are still fighting to this day, that is why I am over here for so long of a time and why I was here a year ago…to keep them from killing each other. In the picture below, the white house is where the bad people sit and watch what is going on.
This guy is from the Republic of Korea, or what we call the ROK. or South Korea. he is on the good side. see how he stands with his fist's clenched…he is angry and likes to show that he is angry and ready for a fight by clenching his fist's like that. This is the bad guy. he is from the Peoples Democratic Party of Korea (the DPRK) or North Korea (nK). They are Communists…which means that they are bad people cause they force other people to do what they want them to do with violence.
For the past 60 years, these two people have been fighting a war. They never let their guard down, that is why the guy is standing with half of his body behind the building…that way he is harder to hit if they try to shoot him.
This is where they sit and talk about things when they decide to take a break from shooting at each other. The center of the table has a flag and the chairs on the right are for the nK's and the chairs on the left side are for the ROK.
This is me being serious with one of the south korean (good guys) guards. he didn't look at me or change his posture, just kept standing straight. We weren't allowed to talk to them either…I wanted to give him some gummy bears…cause he looked like he could use a snack.
I am in North Korea at the time of this picture.
This bridge used to take people from one side of the line that divides the country to the other…once you went over it, you had to stay on the other side.
Somebody made this statue of a bunch of kids trying to put the world back together after the war had torn apart their country/world. Very optimistic…
They also had a cool soccer ball statue inbetween one of the bathrooms…I tried kicking it but it was made out of steel…so it hurt my foot!
This is a bad picture, but that is nK. I imagine that a nKorean is taking a picture of me when I took that picture.
That is me with nK in the back-ground. It is only a couple of kilometers away. They have a huge flag that you can barely see just above my hand…but you have to zoom in to see it.
soooo, That is what I did today, on my saturday. You crazies are just waking up and probably watching cartoons or something interesting like that. Take good care of mom and Emma for me today and remember…no having fun while I am gone!!!
Love ya,
Dad
